Spanish lessons in Hemel Hempstead for all ages

Spanish lessons have been given at the Cherry Tree Day Bilingual Nursery since it was officially opened by Mayor Janet Dunbavand in September 1994. The school is situated in Bennetts End, Hemel Hempstead, just off Barnacres Road.

Having learned English as a second language and taught a large number of students and children of all ages and levels and also observed my own children become bilingual by acquiring Spanish as a second language, led me to develop a method to allow everyone to learn Spanish fast, and to enjoy learning it. Using my method, you will gain confidence and remember everything you have learnt.

Over 12 years of continuous research has enabled me to create a Spanish course which upholds the Escuela Madrid principle of learning Spanish with English synonymously and teaching the essentials in a friendly and well structured manner.

Why you should learn Spanish

Learning a foreign language is one of the most satisfying and useful things you can do, and when we stop learning we stop living. You do not have to be gifted or study for hours. We are all different, therefore we all learn at a different pace. During this course you have to make mistakes - in fact the more mistakes you make the more and quicker you will learn. Spanish is phonetic - it is written and pronounced in the same way. It never changes. Wanting to learn Spanish means you are halfway there.

To learn Spanish all you need is a healthy, positive attitude to learning and to get rid of school age preconceived ideas about language learning. Young children can learn to speak their mother tongue fluently within a very short time without having to learn complicated grammar rules. Children learn quickly because the young mind is very receptive. Spanish is quite similar to English as shown by these Spanish words: similar, observar, visitar, idea, horrible, terrible, absorber, impossible, incredible, excelente, perfecto, problema, fabuloso, magnifico, delicado, etc. There are hundreds of words in Spanish that you may already know.
